什么是WASC？
What is WASC？
WASC的全称为“西部学校与学院教育联盟 (Western Association of Schools and Colleges ) ”，是美国教育部授权的为公立和私立学校、学院和大学进行认证的六大教育联盟之一，也负责认证位于亚太地区的学校。
WASC stands for “Western Association of Schools and Colleges”, which is one of the six education alliances authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to certify public and private schools, colleges and universities. It is also responsible for certifying schools in the Asia Pacific region.
为什么VSP选择WASC？
Why VSP chose WASC？
WASC provides high quality internationally recognized certification for schools by ensuring schools meet the highest standards. As of 2020, only around 5% of domestic bilingual and international schools are WASC accredited, a reflection of the high standards that WASC has.
The WASC process is ongoing. Certified schools need to continuously improve, evaluate and re-evaluate according to the standards, which is conducive to the continuous reflection, improvement and development of the schools.
WASC accreditation ensures that the school is a trusted institution in learning.
WASC accreditation ensures the authenticity of the school’s courses and transcripts, and credits can be transferred to other English Schools – which is key to college admission.

VSP的WASC认证流程
HOW VSP became WASC Candidate？
VSP旨在培养立身世界的中华英才，希望每一个VSP学生能够坚守民族情怀、兼具国际视野、拥有健全人格、面向未来思考。
VSP aims to foster Chinese talents to stand out in the world.
自2017年学校成立以来，VSP致力于与学校社区携手合作，为我们的学生提供全人发展的环境和机会。
Since the school’s establishment in 2017, VSP has constantly been working with the stakeholders within our community to ensure that all our efforts and attentions are on providing the best opportunities for our students to stand out in the world.
自2018年起，VSP启动WASC认证申请工作。WASC认证要求学校持续自我检查和自我反思，管理团队不断地剖析优势领域及待提升领域，制定相应的策略和行动计划，并带领全体教职员工落实推进。
To guide VSP in helping to make these things happen for our students, VSP’s leadership has been working with our school community to become an accredited WASC school from 2018. The WASC process requires schools to self-report and self-reflect, both on their achievements and their areas for improvement. Going through this process has been a really positive influence on VSP and has led to a number of significant school-wide improvement strategies that have greatly benefitted our students. These including the strengthening of our 5C5R learner profile into all aspects of school life and VSP improved data-driven decision making processes.
2019年9月，WASC认证团队完成了VSP首次线下访校及培训；2020年11月完成首次WASC认证前线上访问；2021年4月完成WASC认证线上访问。2021年7月12日起，VSP成为WASC认证候选学校，正式进入WASC认证的自修阶段。
Upon successfully hosting our first onsite visit and training in September 2019, pre-initial visit in November 2020 and initial visit in April 2021, VSP has been granted WASC Candidate for Accreditation and is now entering the self-study phase of WASC accreditation.
在孙校长及管理团队的带领下，VSP将在发展规划、学生管理、课堂教学、教师发展等领域持续提升，激发全体VSPers无限潜能。
Led by our Principal Ms Sara Sun, VSP will continue to work using the WASC framework to drive development and improvement throughout the school and provide a platform to inspire our students to fulfil their unlimited potential.
