Good morning and welcome once again to our school leaders, teachers, students, and to our dear Grade 5 graduates. It has been a remarkable experience to join this group of learners to see out their primary years. As most of you know, I joined VSP at the beginning of this semester. It’s not easy to begin teaching in the middle of the school year, and equally challenging for students to adjust to a new teacher. But you welcomed me so kindly and our time together here at VSP is an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you.

早上好，再次欢迎我们的校领导、老师、同学，以及我们亲爱的五年级毕业生。能够和我们的小学毕业生一起走过一段精彩的时光，我感到十分幸福。大家也都知道，我是在本学期初加入浦东万科学校的。在学年中间才参与到教学工作中其实是充满挑战的，对于同学们来说也是如此，因为你们要花时间适应新老师。然而，大家全都十分热情地接纳了我，我也将永远珍藏和你们在浦东万科学校度过的每一分钟。谢谢大家。

This group of students brings so many excellent and diverse skills to the classroom each day, and it has been a pleasure to see you grow and develop as individuals and as a team. We have shared joy and laughter, as well as hardship and struggle. Throughout it all, you have shown resilience and positivity. While it saddens me to say farewell to these students, as this year ends, I am left with a feeling of optimism that so many intelligent, creative, caring young people will continue to grow and develop next year and onward.

我们的毕业生每天都展现出了出色和丰富的技能，每当看到大家不断地成长和发展，不停地丰富自身和团队时，我都倍感自豪。我们一起分享了笑语欢声，也共同面对了困难险阻。一路走来，你们展现出了坚忍不拔的品格和乐观积极的态度。道别之时总会令人难过，但与此同时，我又十分兴奋，因为这么多聪明、有创意、且关心他人的栋梁之材将会继续迈着大步，在今后的时光中不断成长。

However, the achievements you have made, the relationships you have built, and the intense emotions you have surely felt in your career as primary students are proof that life does not begin after school. While you have many years to continue growing as individuals and as citizens of our world, remember that you carry with you all the skills and knowledge you have gained thus far. You are already capable of doing great things and making a positive impact on your communities.

当然，相信大家也感受到了，你们在小学阶段所取得的成就、所搭起的纽带、以及所感受的情感，其实都证明了精彩的人生早在大家踏入校门的那一刻便已开启。前方长路漫漫，大家还要在今后的很多年不断学习，加深我们对自身以及对自己作为世界公民的理解，但也请同学们相信，你们在小学阶段习得的技能和掌握的知识将伴随你们乘风破浪。你们每一个人都有能力取得非凡的成绩，也都足够重要，能够为你们所在的社群带来积极的影响和改变。

So, go forward with confidence and passion, but remember to always keep an open mind. You will be surprised at the things you learn as time passes and your experience grows. Finally, know that we appreciate the person you are now, and that we count on you to become the best person you can be. I wish you success and satisfaction in your ventures in the years to come. Good morning Grade 5, and all our fellow VSpers who honor us by joining today. I’m Hannah from G5C1. Today is a special day for all of us. Today marks the end of primary school for all the students in this room. It’s the closing of a chapter of our lives, and there’s so much to reflect on about where we’ve been and where we’re going.

亲爱的五年级毕业生、浦东万科学校的师生们，大家早上好。我是来自G5C1的Hannah。今天对于我们来说是特殊的一天，在座的同学们结束了一个阶段的学习，我们的小学之旅即将画上句号，因此现在很有必要对我们这一年的生活进行回顾，以便更好地展望未来。

We’ve all seen so much growth this year. For example, I can proudly say that I made a lot of progress in reading. Before, my comprehension was low, and reading felt like a chore. With hard work, focus, and some guidance this year, my reading skills have greatly improved and I love reading now. In fact, it’s clear that everyone here has improved in their studies. In the beginning of grade 5, no one was getting full marks on tests. But these days, many full marks are appearing. Every student is much more positive than before in many ways.

我们在这一年都成长了很多。我现在可以自豪地说，自己在阅读方面取得了长足进步。之前，我在阅读理解上有所欠缺，每次理解文章时总是很吃力。但通过平时自己的努力和坚持，还有老师们的指导，我的阅读能力有了很大提高，现在也爱上了阅读。其实每位同学都在方方面面取得了进步。刚步入五年级时，没有人能在考试中取得满分。但慢慢的，有越来越多的同学都在不同的测验中拿到了满分，所有同学都比之前变得更加积极和自信。

We’ve all had a great year in VSP. In one short year, we’ve shared ups and downs, flowers blooming and fading, but always showing progress in the end. Let’s all try to remember every laugh, every story, every lesson, while we take our next steps.

我们所有人都在浦东万科学校度过了难忘的一年。在这短短一年，我们一起经历了起起落落、花开花谢，但每个人都不畏艰险，并在最后收获了丰硕的果实。我们会把每一次的笑语欢声、每一份生活中的感动、每一堂课都牢牢记在心中，这些珍贵的回忆是我们继续拼搏的动力。

You know, graduations are so interesting because they are the fusion of two phases. In one sense, we are in this place we are so familiar with, but at the same time we may feel tentative and unsure about the experiences, opportunities and challenges ahead of us. Change is often difficult and unnerving, but it will come no matter how much we want to hold on to what’s familiar to us. So, let’s welcome middle school, and the chapter after that. Trust in our education thus far, and be open to the lessons yet to come. Finally, I want to thank all the students and teachers who helped and cared for me and everyone else in Grade 5, and to wish you all a bright future next year and always.

我认为，毕业典礼就像人生两个阶段的交汇仪式。在我们度过的第一个小学阶段，我们已经对周围的所有事物和环境非常熟悉了，但接下来，我们便要踏上下一个阶段的征程了。前方充满未知，有机会在等待着我们，但也同时布满荆棘，我们现在难免感到紧张和胆怯。改变总会令人不安，但我们也要明白，所谓成长，就是要勇敢地走出自己的舒适圈。因此，让我们充满信心地迎接中学生活的到来，怀抱开放的心态，并以一直以来的教育为基础，从容面对新的征程。最后，我想感谢所有给予我帮助与关怀的五年级同学和老师，也祝愿所有的毕业生前途似锦，在未来有新的收获。

I am honored to be here as one of the graduates of Vanke School Pudong. The knowledge and skills we’ve gained empower us to overcome whatever adversities come our way as we continue our quest for better education.

作为浦东万科学校的毕业生之一，我十分激动和自豪。我们一直以来学习到的知识和技能会源源不断地给予我们能量，助力我们在今后的学习之旅中克服种种困难。

The 5th-grade journey hasn’t been easy.  We were bombarded with various obstacles that tested our resilience as students of modern times. Despite it all, we fought a good fight that brings us all here in joyful celebration. So let’s give ourselves a big round of applause.

五年级的学业充满了各种挑战，我们要随时为克服困难做好准备，而每次的挑战其实也都是对我们坚韧品格的检测。尽管我们的生活中总是有着这样或那样的磕磕绊绊，但我们在面对困难时，毫不退缩，迎难而上，最终成功地相聚在这里，所以让我们首先把掌声送给自己。

My dear fellow graduates, we all have the reason to celebrate this victory of ours. Our path during our journey might have been bitter, but the fruit of our hardship is sweeter.  We have had beautiful memories of being together. Everything we’ve been through has been worth it.

亲爱的毕业生们，这是值得我们每一个人庆祝并纪念的一天。一路走来，我们挥洒着汗水，努力拼搏，最终也收获了甜美丰硕的果实。我们在一起度过了难忘的时光，每一个点滴都值得珍藏。

Apart from our hard work and efforts, we would not have reached this stage without our parents’ generosity, guidance, and unconditional love.

在我们取得今日成就的同时，也不能忘记父母对我们的鼓励、给予我们的指导，以及他们对我们无条件的爱。

To our parents, who are always beside us since the first day of our schooling, this humble victory is fully dedicated to you all. We are always at peace along our journey, knowing that your love will never fade on supporting us.

我想对父母说，谢谢您们从我们上学的第一天开始就一直陪在我们身旁，没有您们我们便无法取得今天的成绩。我们在学习的征程上总是能保持平和的心态，是因为我们知道，父母一直在背后默默支持着我们。

We are incredibly grateful to you all for allowing us to enjoy our rights to education. We honored it as the best legacy that you could pass down to us. We are thankful and wholeheartedly grateful forever.

言语无法表达出我们对父母的感谢。您们的付出将令我们终身受益。谢谢父母，我们亲爱的爸爸妈妈。

Our deepest gratitude also goes to our equally respected and able teachers. Because of your patience and hard work, we constantly grow in our academics and social lives.  You taught us how to share, enjoy life, and accept each other wholeheartedly. Thank you for being a family.
